EDF nega atrasos

Below a reuters story on Flamanville delays, and the link to the
original Figaro story it refers to (in French, with more details):

PARIS, Jan 19 (Reuters) - French power company EDF (EDF.PA) denied a
report it was struggling to complete its new-generation nuclear power
plant in Flamanville, northern France, on time and said the facility was
on track.

Le Figaro newspaper reported on Tuesday that the 1,600-megawatt European
Pressurised Reactor (EPR), due to be completed in 2012, was running at
least two years late, citing certain sources close to the matter.

"We're sticking to what we said: the reactor will start in 2012,
followed by commercial electricity production in 2013," an EDF
spokeswoman told Reuters on Tuesday.

The newspaper attributed the delays to several reasons: Flamanville is a
prototype, the group's engineering skills have not been renewed as older
engineers and technicians retire and demands by the French nuclear
authority (ASN) are taking more time that previously planned. (Reporting
